Hi, I’m Ella Bohren, a Libero and Defensive Specialist from Minnesota and a member of the Class of 2029. I play club volleyball for Northern Lights and high school volleyball for Concordia Academy, and I’m currently ranked the #1 Libero in Minnesota for my class.

My greatest aspiration is to play Division I volleyball as a Libero or DS. I love the intensity of the back row: tracking the hitter, reading their shoulder and arm swing, getting low, and keeping a rally alive. Serve receive is one of the strongest parts of my game. I take pride in delivering accurate, consistent passes that put my setter in system to run the offense and give my team its best chance to score. I’m the player my teammates can count on to lead, pass, dig, and set the tone every point.

I’m driven by my Christian faith and strive to honor Jesus Christ in everything I do, on the court and off. My passion centers on my faith, my family, and my friends, who inspire me to work hard and stay grounded.

I’m blessed to come from a family that values education and hard work. My dad is a principal at Northfield High School, and my mom is a member of the Concordia Academy staff, where she teaches biology. My big brother is a freshman at Winona State University, and my little sister, a OH/DS for Northern Lights, shares my love of the game, so volleyball is a family affair and our house is never short of competition.

My family’s support means everything to me. They have driven me to practices and tournaments, cheered the loudest from the stands, and encouraged me to keep growing as a player and as a person. Their example of faith, service, and hard work shapes who I am, and I carry it with me every time I step on the court.

Outside of volleyball, I enjoy singing, baking, and anything competitive, whether it’s a board game, a backyard challenge, or a friendly bake-off. I’m excited to bring my work ethic, positive attitude, and love of the game to a college program.
